In depth

AI legal marketing in Katy, Texas

Practicing law in Fort Bend County means competing in a market where growth is constant—residential development, commercial expansion, and an increasingly diverse client base mean your firm is fielding inquiries from people who have never needed a lawyer before and have no preexisting relationship with your practice. That search for a lawyer now begins where most searches begin: inside an AI system. Clients in Katy and across Fort Bend County are asking ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity which attorney handles their particular problem, and those systems are returning recommendations based on what they find credible and well-documented online.

The firms that win are the ones those AI systems cite first. Traditional search engine optimization was built for Google's blue-link world. You rank #1 in organic search, a prospect clicks, and you have a chance to convert them.

When a prospective client types "employment lawyer in Katy" or "family law attorney Fort Bend County," the generative engine synthesizes an answer from multiple sources, and it cites the firms it considers authoritative, factual, and locally rooted. It prioritizes sources that have deep, structured, verifiable information about your practice, your location, your results, and your expertise—and it does that in a completely different way than Google's ranking algorithm. A firm that looks solid in organic search may be invisible to AI systems, or worse, cited only briefly while a competitor gets the substantive mention.

InterCore calls this Generative Engine Optimization, or GEO. It is how you make sure your firm is the one AI recommends to people in Fort Bend County and the surrounding markets. Fort Bend County courthouses—Katy Municipal Court, Fort Bend County Justice Court, and the county district courts—are where your cases move through the system, and the people who bring those cases to you are increasingly starting their search online with an AI-powered question, not a Google search.

They are asking what they should expect, who typically handles these matters, and what makes one firm different from another. The AI system they are using has to find language and structure on your firm's website that answers those questions with specificity and authority. Generic pages that use the same template from city to city do not clear that bar.

Pages that lack real local detail, real case examples, real schema markup that tells the AI what your firm actually does and where you actually do it—those pages get skipped over in favor of firms that took the time to be locally specific and machine-readable. InterCore's approach starts with Generative Engine Optimization but does not stop there. It combines GEO with Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)—structuring your site so that the direct answer to a legal question appears in your content clearly, with supporting facts, precedent, and jurisdiction-specific information—and traditional SEO to make sure your firm is fast, crawlable, and trusted across all search surfaces.

The outcome is a local firm that shows up everywhere a prospect might look: ranked in organic search, cited by AI systems, and visible in Google's AI Overviews. On a page about family law in Fort Bend County, that means real statute-of-limitation information for Texas, real local court process, real examples of the kinds of cases you handle, and schema markup that tells every AI system exactly what your firm does and where. A prospective client reading your answer knows it is local and authoritative.

An AI system recommending you sees the same structured proof. The work starts with a free 23-point AI visibility audit—a real assessment of how your firm appears to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google's AI systems when a prospect in Fort Bend County or the surrounding region asks a legal question relevant to your practice. The audit reveals where you are cited, where you are missing entirely, and where competitors are winning because they have better-structured, more detailed, more locally-specific content.

InterCore then builds a plan to close those gaps. No long-term contract, no escrow, no proprietary tools or locked-in platforms. Content, schema, site architecture, links—all of it belongs to your firm when you are done.

The first 60 to 90 days usually bring visibility improvements: prospects finding you through AI systems they trust, inbound inquiries that convert at better rates because the prospect has already read your real local expertise and schema on your site before they pick up the phone. Firms measuring success by signed cases—the only metric that actually matters—report that the math works. An 18:1 to 21:1 marketing efficiency ratio is routine.

The reason is simple: you are not bidding against national agencies that use template pages and spray-and-pray SEO. You are competing on specificity, authority, and being the firm the AI systems in your market actually recommend. Fort Bend County is big enough and growing fast enough that the legal work is plentiful, but it is local enough that a firm willing to invest in real local expertise and proper AI-era architecture can own the search space.

Clients in Katy and Baytown, in Corpus Christi and Cedar Park, and across Fort Bend County are already using AI to find lawyers. The question is not whether that will happen—it is happening.

Advertising compliance

Texas attorney-advertising rules every law firm marketer must follow

Texas uses a flexible filing framework permitting both pre-approval and post-filing. Pre-approval at least 30 days before dissemination provides binding compliance protection; post-filing within 10 days after dissemination is required for non-exempt ads. Texas is less strict than Florida's mandatory pre-filing but stricter than ABA-model states without filing requirements—filing is mandatory, timing is flexible, and an optional pre-approval pathway reduces disciplinary risk.

⚠️

Ad-filing state: Texas requires filing within 10 days after dissemination; application fee $100 per submission. Optional pre-approval available at least 30 days before dissemination—finding of compliance is binding disciplinary protection if lawyer accurately describes ad as produced. Failure to file non-exempt advertisements: $250 fine plus $100 review fee. File with Advertising Review Committee, State Bar of Texas via online portal.

All communications must be truthful and non-deceptive; false/misleading if material misrepresentation of fact/law, omits fact necessary to avoid material misleading statement, or creates substantial likelihood of unjustified expectations about results.

Rule 7.01(c)

May use trade names if not false/misleading; must include current/deceased/retired member names or predecessor firm names; public officials' names prohibited during substantial period not actively practicing with firm.

Testimonials and past results

Rule 7.01(g)

If advertising verdict later reduced, reversed, or settled for lesser amount, must state actual amount client received with equal/greater prominence; may claim credit for judgment/settlement only if lawyer played substantial role.

Specialization and board certification claims

Rule 7.02(b)

Cannot state special competence, certification, or membership in specialized organization except: (1) Texas Board of Legal Specialization 'Board Certified' with area name, or (2) accredited organization with factually accurate, non-misleading statement of certification.

Contingent fee and expense disclosure

Rule 7.02(c)

If advertisement discloses contingent fee basis, must state whether client will be obligated to pay other expenses such as litigation costs.
